Jeff is unusual in being highly proficient as both a professional writer and graphic designer. The outlier next to these more creative expressions is his innate sense of strategy and how it shapes, defeats, or empowers organizations. The combination of these skills has led to award-winning campaigns and communications projects, including IABC Gold Quill, CASSIES, and Advertising & Design Club of Canada.
"Identity" is Jeff's greatest passion within the communications realm. Elemental corporate identity questions are always, obsessively on his mind. He has researched and authored numerous strategic plans, as well as many communications and brand management plans, and creative campaigns.
He served Saskatchewan's largest marketing communications clients, including several crown corporations, during his six years with the ad agency Brown Communications Group. Since 2006, his company Sotropa Communications has evaluated, elevated, and lit up over 100 identities for dozens of organizations and companies, delivered provincial multi-media advertising campaigns, created and serviced hundreds of websites, and supported objectives and issues management for corporate and educational leaders.
A particular speciality has been education communications and the creation of the online platform Schoolkit. He has worked as a manager for a school division, college, and university. He has been an account executive and creative director in the advertising industry. And for the past twenty years has provided insight, ideas, and direction to clients.
His team encompasses digital adoption specialists, web managers and developers, writers, designers, media specialists – whatever it takes to provide the right people for the task. The team works very effectively with clients both virtually and on-site.
We've been specializing in education communications for 30 years, and K-12 websites for almost 20. There's a lot of talk out there about features and tech, but sustained success comes from elsewhere. Our solution for K-12 customers starts with empowering your people. You know that the best technology is worthless if your people don’t use it properly. That’s why our mindset is training first, and technology second. But before all this comes buy-in.
